7 Empowering Affirmations For The New Year

There is something so enchanting about the new year. Every year we hope for change, and improvement. Despite having a great previous year, we always wish for advancement, we set goals for what we want to work on in the new year.

As much as I adore making new goals, I feel that affirmations are much more powerful. Whenever a new year is approaching I love to write down new affirmations for the upcoming year. Affirmations that aide me in staying centered, and focused throughout the year. Affirmations are something that is affirmed, it is a statement that you say to yourself that is declared to be true. When you use them regularly they help you to ditch negative thoughts, and apprehension. You can place them all around the house, so you will see them daily.

“You will either step forward into growth, or back into safety.” – Unknown

Be honest with yourself, if you are being held back by fear own up to that feeling. If you try to avoid it, it will keep coming back, until you’re willing to face it. When we allow ourselves to be controlled by fear, we unconsciously trap our mind. Whatever it may be fear of failure, fear of success, fear of not measuring up, fear of judgement. Being comfortable, and staying stagnant is not always a horrible thing, just don’t allow it to hold you back. Know when it’s time to move on. When you affirm to yourself “fear will not control me” you allow something greater to guide you. Something such as family, love, or yearning. “Jump even when your legs are trembling” – Unknown

We all deserve to feel bliss, and receive amazing things. Don’t trick yourself into believing anything else. Whatever it is you want to manifest in your life; more money, love, a companion, successful career you are capable of manifesting those things in your life. As you say to yourself “I will manifest good things”, “I deserve good things” you open the door up for success and wonderful experiences in your life. Always make sure you are actively venturing out, and making things happen.

Life is extremely precious, and sometimes we forget this. This affirmation reminds us that we matter. When we recite to ourselves “my life is meaningful” we can live a more powerful life. Just as your life is meaningful, so are the people around you treat them as such. Knowing your life is meaningful, gives you a new perspective on life. When you can affirm that your life is meaningful, you also choose to be grateful for everything you have.

When you feel like giving up, and you’ve had a hard day. Choose joy instead of defeat. In those moments of gloom and darkness is when you can affirm out loud “I choose Joy”. When people hurt you don’t let in make you hard, continue to love, and choose happiness. In the new year don’t be defeated by other people, or bad days instead choose love and delight.

Trust that things are happening exactly when they are supposed to. Oftentimes we let ourselves get discouraged because we see other people doing amazing things at the same age as us. We are all on a journey unique to ourselves. I didn’t learn to drive until I was 20 years old, I felt behind due to my friends who were driving at 16 and 17. Due to the fact I have really bad drivers’ anxiety, and there was no one to really teach me.

When I met my boyfriend at 20 he was able to teach me how to drive. He is the only person I can be anxiety free around. The only person that can make me feel safe. So when I look back on it I realized I was able to learn at the perfect time. Maybe you take longer to get a degree, or maybe you take longer to learn a new skill then your peers. Don’t be discouraged there is most likely a acceptable reason, or a great lesson to be learned. You will get where you’re going in your perfect timing.

Start showing yourself some self-love in the new year. Affirm to yourself…”I no longer agree to treat myself with disrespect. Every time a self-critical thought comes to mind, I will forgive the Judge and follow this comment with words of praise, self-acceptance, and love. – Miguel Ruiz”

I hope that the upcoming year for you all is filled with health, self-discovery, more money, and an abundance of happiness. <3
