The Ultimate Spring Cleaning Guide
Spring is without a doubt my favorite season. There is something so magical about the way the world comes alive so to say after the dead of winter. Spring brings us hope, excitement, and rejuvenation.
My favorite spring activates include having lunch outside, buying new bedding, and spring cleaning. Spring cleaning is such a calming, therapeutic process for me. Although it can be very overwhelming, so I put together a spring cleaning guide to help you get it done the right way.
Decluttering and cleaning up your laptop, phone, iPad etc. can be very time consuming and very tedious. I’m always putting it off for this exact reason. Whenever I do find the time, I always manage to get half way through the process and give up. If you’re anything like me spring cleaning is the perfect time to sit down, and truly commit to sorting through all duplicate files, old photos, and ancient emails. When you do finally have a clean desktop, and have all old files moved to your external hard drive. It is an amazing, satisfying feeling. So all though it can take hours even all day it is important to clean up your tech life.
Wardrobe & Laundry
When it comes to your wardrobe, it is easy to hoard clothes we don’t wear or need. The easiest way to spring clean your wardrobe is to get it all in one place. Then go through the items making sure you actually wear and need them. This can be another tedious process, but it can also be fun. Don’t forget you can always donate your clothes instead of throwing them away. Once you know what you want to keep, you can go ahead and get everything cleaned up. If you are anything like me, and own tons of clothes laundry will most likely take you a couple of days, but it always feels so good afterwards. The last step would be to clean out your closet, before placing your freshly cleaned clothes in it. You’d be surprised how much dust can build up in your closet.
Kitchen & Bathroom + Makeup
Both the kitchen, and the bathroom can follow a similar process as your closet. It goes without saying that you don’t have to get
everything done in the same day. It may very well take a couple of weeks, but it is better if you take your time and get it done right. For makeup products and toiletries, you can take a baby wipe clean them up. Of course we all clean these areas throughout the year, but it is easy to skip over little things when we do. Spring is the perfect time to get everything deep cleaned.
Finances & Money
If you are self-employed, and even if you are not organizing your finances is extremely important. Spring is the perfect time to work through your finances, and get your head wrapped around it all. It is also a good idea to do this with your significant other, if you have a shared account, and live together. Spring is the beginning of a new tax season as well. It is always important to look through your receipts, your earnings, and your last 6 big purchases. If you want to start saving for a big purchases, it is also a good time to set some saving goals.
Life & Goals
Being we are all so extremely busy it can be all too easy to abandon our goals, and forget to take care of ourselves. Spring is a good time to check in with yourself about the goals you’ve set at the beginning of the year. It is also a good time to make time to do the things you love, treating yourself to a new pair of shoes, go to the spa, indulging in your favorite dessert.
